I hit the road early today and thankfully I did, because after the run I tweaked my knee in class.
I ran in Colt State Park, Bristol RI. This is a great spot to run especially in the mornings. The scenery changes almost on a daily basis but there is one constant an old one lane bridge that is now a part of the bike/walking path. Every time I run over or by it I remember my father and the family drives through the park and over that bridge. Those times are many miles back but I savor the memory.
I guess when your fifty something you try to “take in and savor” moments more often. Slow down the pace of your run so you can look around and see the tapestry unfold in front of you… Life isn’t a big buffet line where you can eat all you want and don’t remember what you’ve tasted. I prefer to savor the flavors the bitter and the sweet. Our time is fleeting so take your time and “Savor” a moment…
